Consumer Duty

The Consumer Duty is a significant piece of new regulation that sets higher expectations for the standard of care firms across the financial services industry give to their consumers in retail financial markets. The following enhancements have been made to support this.

Executive Summary

The ethos of any executive summary is that it presents just the essential information - concisely and succinctly - so that the reader can get an understanding of a document without having to read it all.

The Executive Summary is now an integral part of the Introduction wizard and is included by default (if not required it can be de-selected on Page 1). It is automatically populated with brief details from the other sections including recommended actions.

Value Assessment

In the Introduction, this allows advisers to clearly communicate the process undertaken in assessing the value received from their products and services advised.

Product Assessment

In each relevant section this allows advisers to confirm if the design of the product or service meets the needs, characteristics and objectives of the client. In most cases it would be for the provider to determine the target market for their products by means of a Product Assessment.

Questions - Answer Suggestions

The answer, or option, suggestions are now hidden by default - to declutter the navigation process. They can be revealed using the new Show Options button. Also the SuperUser can use Show Always against any option for it to be shown by default.
