Help! How do I create a keyboard shortcut for a macro?

Create a keyboard shortcut for a Word macro in easy steps.

  • Select the File tab (left) and then select Options (bottom option)
  • Select Customize Ribbon then click Keyboard Shortcuts: Customize (at the bottom of the dialogue)
  • Choose Macros from the list of Categories (near the bottom of the list)
  • Select the required macro (eg PPOL_TOC) from the list of macros
  • Click in the Press new shortcut key box
  • Press the desired shortcut key combination (eg Alt+Ctrl+Shift+C)
  • (Any shortcut already assigned to that combination is displayed below the Current keys box)
  • Click Assign then Close to complete

Now the macro can be run in any Word document by pressing the selected key combination
